Wrex Pony

Wrex began life as a G4 Applejack. He received a fully body resculpt and was painted in acrylics, and is rehaired with Dollyhair's MLP colors; the mane is Passion Fruit, Hazelnut and a blend of Pomme d'Amour and Nectarine (can anything else sound *less* Krogan than his hair colors?! My goodness!) and his tail is Black Magic and Candy Apple.

Probably the most difficult part of his sculpt work was the shell/hump/whatever. You can't put too much weight on a sculpted pony, or they'll crush and melt in the oven. Most of the shell is actually aluminum foil, and it was terribly difficult to make it seem uniform over top of it.

I had a pretty big internal debate on whether or not to give Wrex a mane. After a lengthy discussion with a friend that doesn't know a thing about Mass Effect, I realized that ponies are supposed to have manes. I've done a couple dragons before that didn't have them, but I figured that he ought to have one. The natural lighting in this picture made the orange/red on his face plates a little bit too red - in person, the orange in his mane matches much better.
