Shepard Pony

Shepard (who I call MShep or "Man Shep" most of the time) was a G4 Pinkie Pie in his past life, with his body fully resculpted, painted in acrylics and his tail is Dollyhair's Black Magick. I'm expecting to get a lot of crap for the fact that I flocked his hair, due to my giving manes to bald characters, but I just thought he'd look better this way.

I could have had MShep done a long time ago, probably before FemShep got finished, except I kept troubling over how to give him his stubble. I did Joker's facial hair by painting it on, letting it dry, flocking it, then dying it the color that was underneath. And I think it turned out well. Did the same thing for MShep's normal hair. However, his stubble is waaaay paler than his actual hair, and so I experimented a bit with flocking over just the skin color and dying it (turned out too dark). I tried flocking without adding color and it was *almost* right, but obviously grey. Ultimately, I decided to leave it off. Pony customs might be my art of choice, but it came down to the fact that I just didn't have the right supplies on hand to make it look good, and I didn't have access to any within an hour and a half drive of my house. One of these days, I might order some appropriate flocking or hunt some donw, but for now, he's clean shaven.

MShep might possibly be my first set of good eyes that I've ever painted. I'm deffinately getting better at it. We never played ME with the default Shepard, and I guess I never realized just how creepy his eyes were until I started watching videos to try to catch other characters in different angles. I didn't *quite* capture his level of creeper in his eyes, but I think the bait's suggested eye shape really helped take him from "some dude" to "some dude with huger eyes than he ought to have." Even using two layers of Triple Thick gloss over his eyes could get them as creepy shiny as they are in the game.
